Read this piece in the LA Times, “Brazil’s hip-hop scene takes the country by storm” featuring Emicida and 2012 Summerstage (my Spring/Summer dream day gig) BrasilSummerfest alum, Criolo. Love this quote from him:
“I believe that in every corner of the world there are people living rap and seeing it with different eyes. If I tried to define what Brazilian rap is, or what rap in the U.S. is, that would be to assassinate one of rap’s most important characteristics, that it doesn’t demand answers.”
They also mention a rapper from the North, RAPadura who is ON FIRE. Wow, amazing flow. Enjoy the music and dig in, kids. Brazil is here.
