Feeling full today after hearing Ana Tijoux in conversation with language justice collaborative Antena‘s Jen Hofer in Spanish – headsets were provided with live translation for English-only speakers – in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles at the Central Library. The talk was FREE and in conjunction with this Saturday’s “Gracias A La Vida: The Rebel Spirit of Violeta Parra” at the Walt Disney Hall. Major mujeres! Salute to the programmers at LA Philharmonic & Library Foundation of LA for facilitating such needed conversations. The talk will be podcasted and shared, but Ana and Jen mused from the hearts, self-reflecting and asking the larger questions about our collective future in times of such chaos. And how we must find hope in each other and within ourselves. Some selects from my live tweeting last night via @conrazon:
“I’ve asked myself if songs are enough.” – @AnaTijoux reflects on pessimism, hope and the lifelong battle we all face @LAPhil @ALOUDla
