The road to #GlobalLocal2014 continues! Meet Las Krudas. Odaymara Cuesta and Olivia Prendes are Cuban Hip Hop MCs, Independent Musicians, Poets, and Theater Performers representing Womyn, Immigrants, Queer and People of Color Action as a Central Part of World Change. They choose the art as a weapon to fight against oppression, for justice, for balance, for our rights, to celebrate the life. They both born, raised in Cuba and began in the ”Artivism” early in their lives. Learn more and visit their website.

I personally go back with Las Krudas and have a lot of love for their movement!  My first show I ever helped produce was called: “Las Mujeres de Hip-Hop Cubano” at SOB’s in 2007 with a slew of amazing guests welcoming Las Krudas, Magyori, and DJ Leidis to the US.  You can read this piece in the New York Daily News.  It’s been super dope to see them develop in Austin and continue to tell their story.  Peep the throwback flyer:
